【活動報告】熱気の中で描く「縁」の物語:大阪・茶吉庵「マーブル展」ライブペイントレポート

Eyecatch

Hello. This is Terashima, CEO of Jibun Rashiku LLC.

The connection made at the "Marble Exhibition" held at Tenma Church in Osaka this March led to a new art stage. On July 19th, I had the opportunity to perform a live painting at the "Marble Exhibition" held at Chakichian, a charming 250-year-old traditional Japanese house located in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture!

Amidst the Heat Surpassing the Summer Blaze

The event was held outdoors on a day of extremely intense heat. However, thanks to the meticulous cooperation of the staff from Art Posse, who organized this event, and the staff from Chakichian, who provided the venue, I was able to concentrate on painting with excitement rather than anxiety.

Under the blazing sun, in the space of the old traditional house filled with the sound of cicadas, I painted using my entire body, as if even the heat was on my side. My live painting style always involves applying paint directly with my hands, without using brushes. Live painting is an unpredictable session where the atmosphere and energy of the moment are instantly translated into the work. The gazes of the audience and the enthusiasm of conversations around me all became the colors of the paint, transforming into expressions born from my hands.

"Being Myself" Embodied in Live Painting

Through such live paintings, I convey the joy of expressing "being myself." It's not about artistic skill, but about trusting the sensations of the moment and giving form to what truly is.

The only regret was that the protective sheet laid on the ground was black, absorbing the sun's heat and becoming extremely hot, which prevented me from performing with enough dancing movement. I keenly feel the need to devise even more creative preparations in the future to ensure the best performance in any environment.

This exhibition truly embodied the beauty of "connections" calling forth other "connections," where one encounter leads to the next.

With Gratitude

I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone at Art Posse for giving me this wonderful opportunity, to the staff at Chakichian for their heartfelt support, and to all who stopped to view my work despite the heat.

I look forward to our connections leading to another new story!
