Hello. I'm Terashima, representative employee of Be Myself LLC.
The other day, I participated in the event 'Minna no Gakuen-sai' hosted by my musician friend Bako-san, who regularly performs at 'Minna no Live,' and exhibited my works! ✨
The venue was an auditorium located in Kitano Nosta, a commercial complex utilizing the former site of Kobe Kitano Elementary School. In this wonderful space, many encounters and emotions were born.
Art Exhibition Resonating with Music
As it was Bako-san's event, there were many musician friends at the venue! My senses were constantly stimulated by the wonderful performances by artists like Saracarse☆, B.B.B., and Keiko Cake.
My works displayed in such a lively venue seemed to resonate with the performances and songs. The exhibition space, where a sense of unity was born, was a very interesting experience for me personally.
'Touch-and-Rotate Art' and DIY Spirit
This exhibition also featured our usual popular project, the 'Touch-and-Rotate Kanjizai Series'.
However, there was a challenge: no walls in the venue to hang artworks! So, we started by assembling our usual display fixtures and then DIY-ed display tools to decorate on the partitions available. Finding creative solutions within limited situations is also a lot of fun.
This 'touch-and-rotate art' exhibition always delights many people with surprise. Just as babies learn by touching objects, I believe that by touching art, it feels more familiar and leads to new discoveries.
The experience of rotating the artwork to change its appearance and perception aims to convey the message that 'there isn't just one way to perceive things.' There are no fixed rules for appreciating art; how you feel is free. I believe that what one experiences personally is the truth. This also connects to expressing the 'Be Myself' that Be Myself LLC values.
At the venue, I was also delighted that my dance friend Sacchan and Kobe singer Maya-san saw my works and gave me their direct feedback!
With Gratitude
I extend my heartfelt thanks to Bako-san for giving me this wonderful opportunity, to all the staff who supported the event, to the photographer Seth-san who took such beautiful pictures (my angelic photo was taken by Sacchan!), and to all the visitors. Thank you very much!
