Hello. This is Fujishima from G.K. Jibunrashiku.
On May 18th, I performed as singer-songwriter fukko at "Iwakura Marche" held at Takaragaike Park! Despite the rain forecast, it didn't rain at all; in fact, it was sunny enough to make me sweat during the day. Under such wonderful weather, I was able to sing at a venue bustling with many people.
A Stage That Overcame "Away Game" Feeling
On this day, Terashima set up a booth as "Rakugaki Lab" with a "free drawing workshop." While supporting that, I went on stage in the afternoon, as the clouds began to appear. I performed three original songs.
To be honest, a venue filled with many unfamiliar faces used to give me an "away game" feeling that would make me dizzy with nerves. But this time, to my surprise, I felt less nervous and calmer than I expected.
The biggest reason for this was thanks to Masanobu Takano, who supported me on keyboard, and Bako, who supported me with chorus. Unlike when I stood alone on stage performing with just my guitar, their warm support allowed me to focus on "singing" with peace of mind. It was truly reassuring!
Warm Support Became My Strength
What warmed my heart even more was seeing familiar faces who came to cheer me on. To my surprise, gospel friends and Mamiko-chan, a judo therapist, came with her child to support me, and I was truly happy to see their faces.
Among the vendors, there were many people I had met at the Marche meetings, such as Mochizuki-san from the local information magazine "TSUNAGO" that I recently announced, and the current owner of "Kohaku" Takoyaki shop, who used to run the regular "Mihashiya" Takoyaki shop. Being cheered on by everyone with words like "We're rooting for your singing!" helped ease my nerves and gave me strength to sing. I truly reaffirmed how powerful these local "connections" can be.
Next Challenge! "Chu Chu," a Cheering Song for Middle-Aged People
The three songs I sang this time were "Persona," "Ichiban no Mikata," and "Minamoto." While many of them were rather mellow songs, I strongly felt that I want to perform songs that will make everyone groove and enjoy together more at the next stage!
Next time, I definitely want to sing "Chu Chu," a cheering song for middle-aged people! Please look forward to it.
To Master Singing with Any Sound System
At this stage, the PA system was not handled by a professional, but by the organizing committee members who worked very hard. In such an environment, I vowed to practice even harder so that I can deliver my songs well with any sound system.
The wonderful experience at Iwakura Marche gave me great confidence and new goals. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who supported me, and to my companions who helped create the stage together!
I will continue to cherish my "connections" with everyone through my singing activities and work.
